So - in Maine our winters get long, even if they are as mild as this one so I've been pondering this coming summer. I have a small boat - 25'. Not enough room to carry my zodiac inflated on deck, no way to mount davits. I also don't really have the room or budget for a liferaft. But I want one - or at least to have my Zodiac available to use as an inshore liferaft. So - anyone figured out how to rig a CO2 canister so that you can inflate your Zode in a hurry? I know Tinker makes an inflatable you can do this with but I want to try it with the one I have. Thoughts? Any ideas about volume? Pressures? Regulators? How to get the hoses to stay in the inflation ports? Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Towing is not the answer (but a SCUBA tank might)

Thanks for the answers guys. Towing is not the answer. I don't care about the drag. I don't want to lose the Zodiac. I have been in 6 - 8 foot waves, steep, not much breaking and was worried about losing the dinghy. On a trip from Maine to Nova Scotia the odds of some big waves are too high. Same goes for hanging the thing on the transom. It'll get ripped away in the conditions I want it most. No - its really got to be inflating it quickly. I can figure out how to get from the tank to the correct pres to the two lines - where I'm stuck is keeping the lines in the boat's inflation ports so that it basically autoinflates.
