Will a ST50 speed instrument(display) work in place of a ST50 Plus instrument? What is the difference between the two? Thanks.

They have a FAQ section plus a section where you can send in questions via email. I used the email option once and it took about 5 days for an answer but they did answer.

Difference
I believe that the ST50 Plus instruments have a 'Code Lock' function, and that is the main difference. Some early versions of the ST50 instruments did not send all their info on the Sea Talk bus, so some of the "plus" versions emit more information to the other instruments. For the speed log, the 'Code Lock' was the only difference.
