after restepping my mast and making all the connections in my little black box for this unit, it will only read hull speed,if I toggle back and forth from true and apparent while sitting still it reads 0 even when there is plenty of wind blowing, as soon as the boat starts moving it matches my hull speed,any ideas would be helpful.

Loose Wire

You must have a loose wire on the wind speed indicator. No connection = 0 speed. When moving, you are seeing the difference in hull speed and wind speed which is 0. Probably only need to check the wires in the "little black box".Bill
