Autohelm 4000 works fine without remote. Stops working when I plug in the remote. Everything about the remote looks ok with the possible exception of the connection end. There’s no real strain relief and the insulated wires are exposed. The cable jacket is folded back. I’d remake the connection but don’t see a way to open the connector without breaking it. Suggestions? A replacement remote, used, is over $200 on eBay.

Imma bettin' that there is someone on here that knows exactly what this type of connector is called and where to buy one... probably less than $50
I'd start with cutting the wire... then use the original to see which wire goes to which terminus and do a rebuild of the connector.

chech these guys out, just search the number of wires inside the insulation and “circular connectors “, there are a few styles and of course, male & female. I have gotten several connectors from them and was very happy
