Our boat came with the standard suite of Autohelm instruments including depth, speed, wind and autopilot. These are tied together with Seatalk. The user manuals say there is a display adjustment, e.g., Depth instrument, "Momentarily push Depth and Alarm together..." and "Display" will appear on the screen. I want to adjust the angle of view, but for some reason I cannot get "Display" to appear. When you press them together CAL appears first, then version, then application. Raymarine technical support says there is no such adjustment. Does anyone know of a way to adjust the angle of view on these instruments? I can change the illumination level, but not the angle of view. Terry

Hi Paul, thanks. Yes, CAL is the first function...

to appear when you push the two keys together and is used to change certain parameters. The manual says DISPLAY is supposed to be the first to appear, then CAL. I called Raymarine technical support again and talked with Steve. He is willing to work with me on finding a solution by rounding up a ST50 instrument and getting it to work on the bench, on a retired product no less. I'm always impressed by people willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Terry

Mine does same thing

Terry Let us know if there really is a way to do this. Mine does the same sequence when going through the CAL functions - no "display" setting

Manual??

Terry, I just looked up the on line ST50 Depth manual. Whilst page 22 (17 on the .pdf)says to momentarily press 'Depth' and 'Alarm' together it does not say that the word DISPLAY will be shown. It does say that pressing 'Offset' or 'Reset' will increment the display angle up or down and pressing 'Depth' and 'Alarm' simultaneously will store the new setting. I wonder if you just stopped pressing buttons when you did not see the word DISPLAY on screen? Here is the link to the Raymarine website. http://www.raymarine.com/SubmittedFiles/Handbooks/Legacy_Handbooks/Instrument/ST50/ST50_plus_Depth.pdf Sorry but it is necessary to download the entire manual as it does not allow pages with diagrams to be cut and pasted into other files. Regards,

Hi all. Here is the answer that I received ...

from Steven Cruz: Hello Terry, I got a unit set up and what I found was that you will hit Depth and Alarm buttons in and out, like a doorbell, you will not press and hold them. This is when the DISPLAY screen will pop up. Contact me if you have further questions. Regards, Steven J. Cruz US Product Support Raymarine …world leaders in marine electronics e-mail : Steven.Cruz@raymarine.com website: www.raymarine.com I'm glad I tried them again and just happened to get Steven. I'll give it a try in the next few days and let you know, unless someone else is closer to their boat. Terry
