The Raymarine ST4000+ autohelm on my boat has worked for years but now it wants to snake back and forth over the heading line. When I first set it on auto it works well but then after about two miniutes it starts to hunt and snakes back and forth one or two degrees then 4 to 6 then up to 14 degrees. I looked at the setings in the dealer set up all looked good. I changed the temp settings for Rudd Response and Rudd Gain but that had no effect.

You might want to check the Troubleshooting Guide in your manual.
Try recalibrating the unit. That's where you drive around in a circle for the initial setup.
