Does it hurt the auto pilot to have it engaged and to turn the wheel
with the autopilot on stand by?

It probably makes the motor spin a lot faster than it should, especially since you can feel the extra effort it takes to turn the wheel.

I don't think it hurts but its kinda heavy to turn the wheel.
