I recently bought an Oday 25 that came with and Autohelm 1000. I would like to get it serviced to make sure it is workable for next season. does anyone know the manufacturer and an address I can contact them? Has anyone else tried this kind of autopilot? How does it work on the 25? Would it be worth the money to have it on board? Any assistance would be appreciated. Ed

I have a ST2000 I bought reconditioned from West Marine. Basically the same as a 1000. I am very happy with mine. It interfaces with other Raytheon products. I have ST60 Wind and GPS and can sail by apparent wind angle or GPS plot. I sail singlehanded and it makes things a lot easier when going forward. A big improvement on the Davis Tiller Tamer I used to use. West Marine can provide servicing or go to www.raymarine.com. They have online manuals if you need information on installation, wiring, or use. Ed

I have an Autohelm 800 on my 222 O'Day. I'm at a point now that I wouldn't want to sail without it. I also have the remote control which only makes it that much better. Before spending money to see if it's working I would connect it to 12 volts, move it from side to side and see if the arm moves in and out. I had to have mine repaired several times and I was never charged. The address is: Autohelm Repair Center 676 Island Pond Rd. Manchester, NH. 03109-5420

I have one on my O'Day 28 that I sailed to the Bahamas and back from Hilton Head Island, SC. Used it a lot with good results. It should be plenty hefty for your boat. I even used it with sails in light air without excessive drain on batteries (I had four).
