Raytheon Autohelm 1000
We used an Autohelm 1000 on a tiller steered Sun 27 for about 14 years. We had it rebuilt in 1998 after 12 years and it was still working well when we sold it with the boat in 2000. This unit steered the boat far more than we did. We would have kept it if our new boat were tiller steered.

Hi There, and I agree with Jack, Before I purchased my new Cat 22' MarkII 2000 I went up to Sausalito Calif. to try one on and the dealer there had one equipped with a Raytheon ST-1000 Auto Pilot. It came equipped with a remote control attached to 25 feet of small cable and you could literally steer or make corrections with it from the bow if you wanted or change course etc even from the head lol was not a problem. I was sold on it. Sailnet.com had just last week the very same unit with the remote control for 399.00. I believe the list price is somewhere around $600.00 Hope this helps Happy Sailing
