I notice that all the 134a refrigerant, oil and accessories (gauges, etc.) at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and the auto stores are clearly labeled 'Auto Air Conditioning'. Which of these products are compatible with the Coldmachine and which are not ? If any are not, what are the appropriate products and who are the suppliers ? Thanks

automotive a/c kits

The cans of 134A you see in Walmart are the same as we use in our refrigeration systems, but the hose they supply is for a/c systems. To properly charge your Adler Barbour 1. best way- weigh the charge in, which requires a very expensive scale 2, second best- by surface temperatures, requires a hand held digital thermometer with at least 2 probes. 3.third- by low side back pressure, less accurate than the first 2. Requires a high quality low side pressure gauge (nice to have for #'s 1 & 2). The access to our systems is a schraeder valve which requires an adaptor if an automotive kit is used.
