Auto pilots

Walt,Nigel, Doug,

The bent bar was much the idea that I was leaning towards. I find
that the stock tiller is obstructed by the cockpit seats and cannot
move the full range of the tillerpilot. My plan was to also change the
angle of the tiller to allow the original tiller to clear the top of
the cockpit seats. Doug's modification seems to imply that the
outboard end of his tiller is now higher than seat tops allowing for
more range when the pilot is mounted closer to the tiller post.In my
case with the TP20 mounted as it was the unit had difficulties tacking
the boat as it was limited in its ability to come hard about. I
believe that mounting the TP20 less than 12" from the post and having
the arc of the tiller clear the seats will resolve this problem. Oh,
BTW I purchased the TP20 because the extra power of the unit seemed to
me to be useful if one was to use the unit extensively.
