The Attwood shower sump pump on our Hunter 49 still sometimes works but I would like to replace it with something more reliable. Any suggestions?

Put in the Whale IC grey water pump with T fitting.

I replaced the old Forward Shower sump pump on our 1988 45' Legend with a Seaflo Automatic Submersible Boat Bilge Water Pump 12v 750gph Auto with Float Switch that cost us $21.
It fit perfectly, didn't need a separate water float switch AND!,...it drains the waste water level in the shower sump down to 1/3rd the water level of the old arrangement. Which thrills my wife to death, because the remaining (residual) water can be mopped up with just a towel now.

I would put a few grams of Bromide tables every few months. I found that if not runned often I find some growth that locks the float. I have been removing the growth by hand (which you may have to do anyway) before I started the bromine regiment. I also run a few gallons of water just tomake sure its working.
We have the Attwood shower sump box and pump for our shower. The pump died and Attwood do not sell a replacement fir this pump. I just purchased a Whale diaphragm pump from Defender, last week. It was a significant saving because of a discount through Activecaptain. It looks like a much better pump, does not require a filter of any kind.

I replaced all of my ITT sump Pumps, on or 2004 H41, with Whale Gushers. Best thing I ever did. NO MORE MAINTENANCE. They just work! A sump pump that needs a filter is just wrong.
