I was thinking of putting a traveler on my 222. Has anyone done this? What type, size and where did you put it?

Traveler

Steve - I think that adding a traveler is a very effective way to add controllability to the boat. I particularly like to be able to depower without increasing draft by dumping the travler instead of the sheet. I would look at the Harken book - they have systems laid out pretty well. Make sure that you back the hardware sufficiently and that if you go mid-boom the hardware is strong enough to survive crash-jibing. If you lose the mainsheet the boom may swing into the rigging. I posted a similar question earlier re/ my O22. Search the archives for "mainsheet attachment to backstay" A lot of good responses.
