Atomic4

I have a Atomic 4 that is over heating. It was running fine until 3 weeks ago the gate valve for water intake failed to open an I was unaware that this happened. When the engine overheated at that time I assumed that the impeller had crapped out. After pulling the cover off the water pump I found the impeller to be ok and in one piece. Searching further I found the bad gate valve. I installed a new ball valve and ordered NE impeller, shaft and seals, which I installed today.
I have plenty of water coming out the exhaust but the engine is still over heating. I am looking for suggestions.
Thanks

Thermostat

The over heating may have messed with the thermostat. Remove it and test it in a pot of heated water. Also try the engine without the thermostat installed.

I believe your not suppose to run the engine without a thermostat. The thermostat in the A4's is a 2 stage and the system does not run like in your car.
Go to Moyer Marine and check it out.
You can run without a thermostat but replumbing is needed.
