I am travelling North through Atlantic City on The 5th of July. Can anyone recommend where to get a slip for the night. I would also appreciate any recommendations of where NOT to stay. I realize it is last minute so it may be tough but it looks like the best option for me. THANKS ALL!

AC Marinas

We have stayed at Kammermans marina in AC. It is located right accross from Trump Marina. Kammermans is $2 a foot. Trump and Harrahs are $4 a foot. Naturally there are more amenities at Trump and Harrahs but Kammermans is OK for a quick stay. You can also anchor in front of the Coast guard station. Fair Winds SV Amanda Gail

It certainly appears that way..... But give me a little credit for making sure I have the details figured out in foreign waters.... Thanks again for all your help. I leave Thursday PM, stay in Chesapeake City Thursday, Cape May on Friday(hoping to see some fireworks) and AC on Saturday. I checked with Kammermans they have a slip , thank you. A friend has a slip at LBI for me. The next leg is from LBI to Plymouth MA July 13. THANKS AGAIN!

Kammermans is the cheapest in AC

we left my boat there the week after mem. day on our transit north to Old Lyme. People were very accomidating re: leaving a car until we could get back to pick it up. the other marinas in ac were absolutely rid in price. we could have gotten a room in a fancy hotel for what they wanted for transit fees. at one place, i believe it was the supposed city marina owned by the state of nj at $4.25/ft/night. are you going outside or up the coast? we went up the coast then ducked in behind sandy hook near the cg station. good place to drop the hook and about the only one. the other two places to get in on the nj coast are not so hot. manesquan and barnegat. hit hell's gate at a good tide. we hit it totally wrong, but had no choice as we were on a schedule to make. it was hell getting thru. if you need fuel fill up in ac as there doesn't seem to be anyplace in nwc to get it. we finally found some in flushing bay@1.95/gal I hope you have a dryer trip than we did. nothing like moving a boat in the pouring rain 2 out of three days. fair winds and no rain! capn jim

Be Aware

Harrahs marina in Atlantic City is closed, has been for at least two years. (Just about the time the Trump Castle increased rates) If the casinos are not important to you, There is an ancorage on the North side of the river before the bridge, talked to someone who used the area last week, said was a fine anchorage.

If you want to go inside

you can go in to the Inland Waterway at Atlantic City (Absecon Inlet) and stay inside to Manasqaum Inlet. But watch your draft and the channel markers. SeaTow lurks for the unwary. At Sandy Hook you can anchor off the Coast Guard station or a little south in Horseshoe Cove. Watch for the bar. Stay south. Fuel is available at Atlantic Highlands for a lot less than you will pay in New York. You can also go in to Flushing Bay and anchor out and get fuel at World's Fair Marina at $1.95/gal for diesel. Captain Jim, I think I spoke to you when you were fuelling at WFM in that wet weather. Bon voyage.

dock

You can try two mile landing in Cape May. If no luck you can try further up the intercoastal waterways that end up in Wildwood, NJ. Two Mile Landings is cheaper than the Canyon Club in Cape May. In Atlantic City Trump Marina is $4.00 a ft. Very expensive.
