Hunter 340 Lake Lanier, GA
We don't have a sprit on our H340

The PO acquired a UK asymmetric with a dousing sock and the tack strap that wraps around the head stay. Rigging includes a downhaul to adjust the tack up and down, the spinnaker halyard, spin winches towards the rear of the cockpit and small blocks attached to each stern pulpit to be the fairleads for the sheets. We've only used it a few times in two years but it works well on beam and broad reaches in winds under 10kt, but on our lake, we don't always have long tacks to make rigging the thing up worthwhile.

Alan: Great Idea

Alan: That is a great idea and a sweet setup. I've spent all afternoon thinking about how nifty this would be on my Cherubini 33. Do you have any more information besides the pictures you provided? Specs? Drawings? Dimensions? Attachment points? etc.? Do you find it is strong enough to hold in most conditions? How did you size the length and diameter of the pole? Any more info would be greatly appreciated! Chris....................

Which bracket

Thanks for the new pictures. I can see how you mounted the rear with a standard spinnaker pole deck bracket attached to a good backing plate. What about the front bracket by the forestay? Did you use the Selden one? Did you have to modify your bow to fit it on? Does the pole slide easily in and out of the front bracket? How far out does your pole extend? What diameter is the pole? How big an assy do you fly with it? How high of winds have you experienced? (You can tell I'm thinking about the pole bending). I know these are detailed questions, but I'd be happy for any info you can share.
