Anyone have experience with an Asymmetrical on an O'Day 322? We often have some very light air around the area and I am considering a spinnaker to liven things up.

asymetrical

I have an O'Day 35 and use an asymetrical spinnaker. I don't have a sock so dousing it is a challenge by hand for one person. Definitely not a single handed option (someone needs to man the helm and keep watch, maybe with an autopilot you could do it). The sail is great for winds up to about 12 knots in angles up to close reaching. You will need a masthead fitting to make sure the halyard runs forward of the headstay. You will also need some way to connect the tack. The sheets I run to blocks I attach to the stern cleats with lines. The sheets need to each be two times the length of the boat so get about 140 feet of line for the sheets. The sail is so light it does not add any weight to the boat, but it takes up a lot of room for storage. Dave
