Assymetrical Spinnaker

Hey!I'm looking to get an assymetrical spinnaker for my Hunter 326. I have a couple of questions. First, I'd like to add my boat name and a simple graphic (Pegasus and graphic). Can Doyle do that? Second, the boat has winches, blocks and mounts for the sheets and a halyard, but I don't know for sure how to attach the front(?)of the spinnaker...suggestions? Third, how close to direct downwind will that type of sail allow me to go (there is a lot of direct-downwind sailing on the Columbia River)?Thanks!Scott

Tack Line

Scott,I'll let Doyle answer the questions on the graphics and name. I have an APC that I bought from this web site on my 320, so I can address the front of the spinnaker attachment (tack line).When I race, I have the anchor in the locker and not on the roller. I pulled the top pin, put a shackle in the hole, and a block on the shackle. The tack line then was run through the block and attached to the sail. This year, I will drill a hole in the bow roller to have the shackle in all the time, with a snap shackle on my block.As far as down wind sailing, the APC will do fine, but the main may have problems because of the sweep of the spreaders. I have used my APC with wind from 100-260 relative.Good luck.Steve

Asymmetricals

Yes Scott we can add the graphics for you. There are several ways to attach the tack of the sail. Most use the supplied tack line to hold the tack down and then a collar to hold it on center line. This keeps the sail stable while running in any seas. You can go down to around 160 apparent without hiding the sail behind the main. Once you get deeper with out a pole to hold the sail out to weather it collapes behind the main. Some have been able to wing the sail out in flat water, but it is a little tricky.
