Cannot find it anywhere, or rather I'm getting different answers. So, what is/are "proper":
a) way to fly one with fractional rig, i.e. from the masthead or from the the top of forestay (approximately), and
b) spinnaker dimentions ?
The web gives me a luff of about 25 ft, which tells me that the spinnaker should be flown from a masthead, but I read that the spinnaker halyar block should be next to the jib block. Which is very confusing.
I'd appreciate any input.

Hi Piotr, you want the spin halyard block about 12" higher than the jib block on your fractional rig. Flying it from the fairly unsupported top of the mast could result in a bent mast or worse. My spinnaker measurements are : 22.86 luff, 17.82 foot, 20.48 leech. Make sure you measure your "J" (from lower forestay attachment to from of mast) and give that dimension to the sail maker because some of the online "J" dimensions they use are wrong. Mine was listed at 9.8' and its actually 10.8', which makes a big difference in the size of the sail. There are some pics of my spinnaker on my online album on this site. Jim
