Arming your Sailboat. In these dangerous times that we live in, I feel it is a boat owners duty to leverage all available power. Especially with all of the recent climatic events, you need a well armed boat to help pull your load when the going gets tough. Peace through superior pulling power ;)

Now you have done it

The Canadians will think that my blocks and rigging are some kind of weapon. They already forbid anyone with slingshots, spears, or potato guns from entering their very peaceful and highly perfect country. Now they will equate my boom vang with an AGM-65.

Potato guns are the real problem

The potato guns are the real problem. When ever the USDA learns that we in Canada are using potatoes in this manner, we get accused of causing supply shortages and artificially inflating the NA potato price. Then the Irish get into it....:)

Now it all makes sense

When we crossed the border on Labor Day weekend the Canadian customs guy asked if we had potatos. Are spuds now in the ammunition category? Are red potatos tracers?

What about French Fries? ;D

MacDonald's probably found the secret of getting them into Canada - frozen, sliced potatoes! ;D They probably get them in thru Idaho. The distribution part is simple!

Shhhh!

If they find potatos, that is one thing. Importing illicit vegetables is bad too, you know. Using them for ammunition is a completely different set of laws. Maybe two violations in one. I wonder if they have a law about using illegal veggies as a weapon. That would be strike three. It is probably a hate crime too. You know, some sort of cultural insult to the Irish. You will never get out of their system. If I ever got out of that one, I would have to explain to mom about wasting potatos. Even though she passed away a few years ago, I am sure she would find a way to come back for a good scolding. I have to go clean my plate now! She always told me that the Chinese had some kind of interest in my cleaning my plate. Don't want to make them mad either.

Patrick, we must have the same mom.

My mother was a war bride from Italy. The Nazis did a lot to her 'food' outlook. As such, I'm still a plate cleaner. Because of Hitler! Never thought about that until now. Also, when we were in Canada last month with the boat, potato's were prohibited.

Italian, eh?

My wife is from there too. She cooks for Italy and I eat for Ireland. No wonder my clothes are always too tight. The Itallian names have too many syllables. I keep telling her that if she would only sell some of those vowels, we could pay off the credit cards. The customs guys never made any distinction about red potatos. I doubt that they are in the tracer category. I think it may be a political distinction. Maybe they are ok given that it is Canada after all. Fred, when are you going back to find the Buddha? Inquiring minds want to know.

Patrick, next summer.

But, can you give me better directions? I had a dull glazed over look in my eye from my last reading of them. Must have been the vodka. Don't they make some vodka from potato's?
