I'm starting a trip down Arkansas River. Please share with me any others that enjoyed this sailing. Thank you.

Be sure to post dates you plan to start and be sure to stop in Russellvile at Dardanell St. Park and Russellvile marina. That will be one of the few places you will find a fuel dock and guest dock if you want it. Also bound to find a few friendlys and be welcome on the quarted deck.

Thank you Mel 22. I was told today that many of the marinas well not sell less than 100gals of fuel. I find that hard to believe.

I think it is about 90 miles. If you bring a dinky with you, you can stop at Ozark and row to shore and pick up fuel in town. Next stop is clarksville where a train bridge blocks sailboats from reaching marina. Again you would have to anchore out and row (or motor) dinky to marina for fuel.
Best bet is to carry a few extra cans of fuel on deck. Russelville marina at lake Dardanelle has fuel and will sell you however much you want. I often buy 1 gal. at a time and they don't mind.
Comming down river you will be with current and usually have better winds so fuel will not be as bad as going back up river.

HI Peg and Mel...I am thinking about mooring my boat in a slip after reaching chosen location ( proabbly in LR). Then renting a car to go back and pick up my trailer and returning rental to nearest airport to keep rental people happy.
Can you guys help me with this plan of action ?
