Do you consider yourself a racer or a cruiser? Have you tossed out the oven to save a few pounds in your next club race, or do you scoff at racers as you motor past? Do you use your boat for both purposes, or are you still a racing virgin? Share your opinion, then vote in this week's Quick Quiz at the bottom of the home page.

racer on hiatus

My racing days are on pause and its all my girlfriend's fault . . . I used to race 420's and FJ's, and most recently a laser, but my current boats are not much in the racing groove. When I bought our Catalina, I almost went to J24 land but the spartan accomodations knocked it out of girlfriend land. The daysailer has no competition around here, so even though its decked for racing, there's no one to go against. I'm stuck as rail meat for the time being, but the next one is likely to be an ultimate 20, and get me back in the action. For those of you with light colored hulls, remeber: its easier to get dark marks off white hulls than it is to get white marks off dark hulls. Bouy Room? I don't think so.
