I am curious if anyone has ever attached davits or an arch to the back side of the traveller arch on a Hunter. I have an 02 410 and have been thinking about attaching an arch or davit arms to the traveller arch that would be supported by a strut from the top or the arch. the arms or arch could also be used to mount solar panels or other equipment. I believe that the existing traveller arches are beefy enough to support this structure plus a 200+ lb dinghy.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated. If you know of something like this I'd like to know where to get it. if this description is too vague I can add a sketch.

I know Hunter does make such a setup Hunters 38ft and up.
It is pricey the one Hunter sells, but have see others do the same.
I would check the archives, some on this forum has the Hunter setup
for his 38-Hunter.

Hunter Arch Davits

I added the Hunter Marine arch davits to my 38 this spring and have been very pleased with the set-up. I believe that the 38s uses the same arch as some of the larger 40 series boats. Installation was very straight forward as the davits clamp right onto the arch. It's a very slick set-up which has drawn a few compliments as it really looks to be part of the arch. Other set-ups would have restricted access to the stern lockers and/or involved drilling into the deck. I know that there are pictures of the Hunter davits in the archives of this forum.
