Arch gets in way of Pumpout thru hull

Well after a weekend of family on the boat and pumping water through the head to verify operation of head/vented loop and tank guage, the tank is full. The pumpout adapter that I have fits fine, but when I try to attach the pumpout nozzle to the adaptor, the arch is in the way. Anyone else have this problem on any other boats, and if so, how did you get around this? Appreciated any input. Regards. Bruce Neon Moon

Here's an idea

If that crane is still around you can lift the boat and hold the pumpout hose up to the macerator thru hull... better make sure it's a snug fit, though. don't mention it; happy to help. :)

If I had the crane

I would just have them turn the boat upside down and free drain through the deck fitting, that way I wouldn't have to wash the bottom before placing in the water. And as always, thanks for your valuable input :) Bruce.

You just gotta love Hunters Customer Service

I placed this post to see if I was doing something wrong, (what me make a mistake...)and again, I get a call directly from Hunter following up on the question. That's great customer service! I will be sending some photos to Hunter so that they can see exactly what I am experiencing (pumpout adapter and nozzle). BTW, the boat sailed great last night during the beer can race, Dead Down Wind, wing on wing worked pretty good and managed to keep ahead of a Catalina 30 with its 150 genoa and full main, gotta love it. I'm curious...

Was the pumpout installed after-market?

Nope

No, it is all factory. I believe that later boats will be changed (my opinion only), I will be sending pictures into Hunter so that they can see whats going on. I think that once they see it, they will probably move the deck fitting to ease pumpout. Again, those are only my thoughts, we will see what Hunter thinks of the picture. Regards. Bruce. Neon Moon

Soon to be resolved

Eddie at Hunter asked me to take some pictures and send them to him. Probably 10 minutes after sending the pictures I got a call from my dealer telling me that Hunter was asking them to get quotes on moving the pump out. While I was talking to my dealer (Shameless plug La Vida Starships, great people/price/service... end plug now) Eddie was leaving me a voice mail letting me know that he has asked to get a quote to move it. Additionally he was going to get with the production folks and have it moved on future production. Imagine how much we could get accomplished in this world if all companies operated like Hunter. Ironing out the kinks.

Go Bruce (and Hunter)! By the time I'm ready for my 320, I expect you and Hunter to have this model pretty close to perfect. :)

Hmmm....

I understand from my dealer that my 320 is in route from the factory now...don't suppose it will have a relocated pumpout. I'll be sure to quiz my dealer on it when it arrives next week....anything else you notice please post. thanks
