removehtml]Appleman: Great job and great story. I had to replace all teak topside. I did not have one pair where the other was not broken. And around the deck, the forward piece on one side was broken and the aft piece on the other was broken. My rebuild was meant to be a low dollar rebuild since it like yours was a project. My interior was not a bad as yours. I had some mildew problems and the vanity sink shelf was pulled out of aft side and hanging loose. My boat took a hit while tied to dock when high power boat left hugh wakes causing several boats to break loose of docks and hit docks. My boat sustained exterior hull damage with surface cracks in three places, forward starboard cleat was broken out of deck and aft rail in was cracked at one attaching points. Owner had immediate repairs made to major damage, but the boat was not taken out of the water to do repairs and they were not first class job appearance wise, but were otherwise good repairs for damage. Just did not look good. My forward hatch was cracked on one side beyound repair and needed to be replace. I replaced all exterior teak with white HDPE. So my boat has different appearance. I did not have pieces to make template for door, but on second try making a door came very close. During my rebuild, I used BoatLife as caulking. After I put boat in water and sailed it, it developed several deck leaks. I went back and use one part urethane roofing cement to reseat offinding leaks. The roofing cement is used locally and was originally recommended for the project in the first place. It works good. I still have a couple of very small leaks around the cockpit(?) that are not coming from major deck fittings and I need to be inside when some squirts the boat to figure out where they are. It is possible that water is still getting in around the door, but I think it is further aft. Inside cabin hole covers used to get out the screws for the cabin top grab rails had some covers missing. I could not at the time locate the right size and was going to just leave them open when I figured out that I could use a coupling bolt to the interior screw and I added inside grab rails in the cabin.
