Key West

Rick, The timing sounds about right for us. Should be in or near Key West by then. Kind of depends on the weather. No dodger, so when it rains we stay put. Also traveling with a dog, who needs her dinghy ride twice a day. In S.C. at this time. (barely) Been traveling the ditch, but hopefully can get some offshore time in soon. Has really been nasty out there past couple of weeks. All the southbound boats we have had any contact with are staying inside too. Your schedule sounds a little bit optomistic, especially the first few days. 70 mile days are leaving very early and running late. Some of those inlets over that way can be tough at night if your not familar with them. Or are you doing that part inside. Phil

Very Interested!!

I'm very interested Rick - I'd have to make some rescheduling of some committments but that should be doable. BTW, the title reads to Tampa but I see the schedule calls for Key West?? Interested in either. What were you guys planning regarding the trip back?? Bill P.

I'm Only Going as Far as Tarpon Springs

It is my neighbors trawler that we are going on they will eventually end up in the Bahamas. His wife is a little less than enthusiastic about the whole boat thing but she has gone with him on the Great Circle up the east coast and down the Mississippi He did not want to push it across the bend in January and turn her off all together. He is trying to get one other guy to fit into the schedule I'll have to see what they come up with.

A trawler!!! Kidding....that's fine.

I'm still interested - being on the water is the important part and that would make my scheduling issues less involved. Have you transportation arrangements back?

South Seas Plantation

Was looking at your schedule, The South Seas Plantation Marina is closed due to Hurricane damage from last year and is reportedly not re-scheduled to open until 2007. FT. Myers is further down and has some good marinas.

Getting Back

Not sure about that one either. Go Greyhound maybe. We are all military and might hitch a plane ride out of McDill. Getting together on going is tough enough let alone getting home. I may have misled you there Bill we were thinking of other boats for the crossing from Appalach to Tarpon. I'll keep it in mind if one of the other guys falls out for sure I'll make the suggestion to the skipper.
