Is there anything new in the lines of an electric head that doesn't cost a whole lot and works well with a macerator. I am considering purchasing the Raritan Sea Era. What are the opinions on this model. Thanks, Mike

Sea Era is the newest electric toilet on market

Raritan just introduced it in Oct. For the money, you won't do better.

Replace PAR compact with Sea Era houshold?

The head that came with the Hunter 430 is the PAR compact, and it is TOO compact for most people except little ones. But the water supply right angle barely has enough room... it is up against the wall panel behind it. Would the Sea Era Household size (or for that matter any other quality head of larger size) fit? (I can't tell from the drawings in the Raritan site) Thanks.

Check out the Cricket, George...

It fits in the same space as other manual compact toilets, but is available with the larger "high boy" bowl. The Raritan Sea Era was designed to be an upgrade replacement for the comparable Jabsco, not the Compact. But there's no law that says the new toilet has to sit exactly where the old one did...move it out from the bulkhead an inch or two if necessary. And the best way to find out whether any toilet is gonna fit is: check the dimensions in the catalog or owners manual against the space on your boat by printing 'em out and taking a tape measure to the boat. Allow 2" for an intake elbow, 4" for a discharge elbow. Some toilets allow you to move the pump to the other side of the bowl. Trying to match or cover existing mounting bolt holes with a different toilet is usually an excercise in futility, even with later models of the same toilet from the same mfr. The easiest solution to ugly holes is a 1/4" or 1/2" "platform" sheet of teak, mahogany or other wood that covers the existing holes...the new toilet's mounting bolts will hold it down...seal the edges with silicone or other sealant that makes it possible to replace the platform if the next toilet's bolt holes don't match either.
