Has anyone replaced their Grey Portlights on the Cherubini Hunters, AND might still have the old (larger) lenses around, and in good shape? Yes, I know I'm dreaming, and the rational to get better portlights is very strong, but we're getting to the final stages in the refit, and we are trying to save! Three of our portlight lenses are either cracked and/or have a missing hinge, etc. We are trying to find if anyone who reads this forum may have any spares, in adequate shape, or a better-priced source to get them, than Pompanette? Many thanks for your suggestions. Bob

What are the sizes?

Hi Bob - Send me an email with the Pompanette part numbers you need (if you have them) or the size of the ports. I'll see if we can source them and check on pricing. Send the info to bly@sailboatowners.com. Bly Berken

plex glass

HI bob I replaced all of my windows on a C30 last year becouse of some leaks.I bought some plex glass and cut them with a jig saw. Then I used a belt sander to finish the edge and a plumbers tourch to smooth the edge. I made 4 windows 6" x 12" 4 windows 3' x 10" two roof hatch 2'x2' and one 14"x14" I lost one over board in a thunder storm.(my wife was helping)I think all the plex glass cost around 110 bucks. I could have reglued the old ones but they where hard to clean and did not fit well. They had a bunch of tints in stock lots of grays and smoke . dark bronze matched my C 30 1988. John

Still need lenses?

Bob, I replaced my Gray ports on my Hunter 27 this fall and I believe the lenses on at least 2 of the old ones are still good. Be glad to send them to you if you still need them. They are 7 X 14. Let me know - Karen

Try Select Plastics

Look at Select Plastics at www.selectplastics.com. I bought 6 Lewmar portlight lenses from them and the price was something like $43 for #1's and $65 for #4's. They use a good grade of acrylic made to order so I'm sure they can make anything in any color. A lot easier than DIY in my opinion, and no chance of messing up with the jigsaw! Cheers, Tim
