Anyone who has bought Stern Rail Seats

Just wondering if anyone has purchased the Stern Rail (perch) seats, available in the chandlery, for any model, but specifically for a 322? Are you happy with them and are they comfortable -- even without the stern rail being bumped out like on newer boats? I can't seem to find a comfortable spot in the back of the boat unless I'm at the wheel. (That part of the T-bench in the cockpit drops very low at the outer edges, and I feel like I need to be sitting on telephone books so I can see!) I don't want to add the stern rail seats if they'll only take up space without providing comfortable seating. Thanks for any suggestions!

Sternrail Seats

Hi Diane - I purchased sternrail seats for my Catalins and absolutely love them. They provide great seating for guests when they want the best view on the boat but keeps them out of the way. They can flip up as needed and really add space to the cockpit. Check out the Owner Reviews at the Related link below. The same mfg makes OEM seats for Beneteaus and others boats, so they are high quality. Hope this helps, Trevor

Thanks all

Thanks for the feedback. For some reason I haven't been able to see the photo's you reference, J.B. -- must be my settings. Glad to know someone else has them on their 322 and find them comfortable (Ed -- and on the Catalina, Trevor.) I'm going to measure again to see how it will work -- we have the dinghy motor mount on one side of the stern and the BBQ grill on the other side (when we cruise) with the lifesling. (Do we need a bigger boat? LOL) I found a unique solution that's making it comfortable to sit on the back ledge (out of the hole) -- it's actually a rubber kayak seat that I can attach to the rails so I don't lose it when I'm not sitting. It's a nicer version of one flotation cushion under my behind and the other behind my back! It also stows easily along with everything else when we're racing. By the way, with sustained winds of 20+ knots yesterday on the bay, I was LOOKING for warm and dry HOLES everywhere in the cockpit!
