I came across and ad for "Tufted Topper," a mattress topper. My foam mattress on my aft cabin on my 5 year old boat is shot and causes me back pain after the second night. "Tufted Topper" seemed like a reasonable alternative to a regular mattress or new foam. Has anyone had any experience with this product? Thanks in advance, Wynn Ferrel

I havn't tried tuftedd topper, but I think I have tired everything else. So I bit the bullit and bought a 6" inner-spring custom fit mattress and WOW!....it's the best investment I have made for my boat.

I have heard others rave how much it helps and I went to a boat show this past winter and saw one in person and layed down on a hard cushion with and without the Tufted Topper. After that I was sold.

Palmer Bedding in Philly, $1,350. HMC, located in California, prices their 6" inner spring for our Catalina 36 at $1,250, plus shipping. Since I am in the Philly area its a wash.

Wow. I think if you ordered directly from
Catalina you could get an innerspring mattress for cheaper, but you'd ahve to look at total cost and shipping. Was that $1350 for both front and rear?

Just got mine
I saw the add and although my boat is only 10 Years old, I added the Tuffed Topper and think it is a good value for the $$$. The directions are EZ. Just trace the cushion and return. Return service was prompt. A very nice product and looks good. The "custom fitted sheets" are a bit expensive in my opinion, I just use a queen flat sheet and tuck it under. good luck, Marc

Keep in mind that the mattress folds in half for easy install and removal, has a moisture barrier on the bottom and the inner springs are coated to prevent rusting. Having tried many different options, this mattress delivered the comfort (I have a back back) that I was looking for.

Endorse Tufted Topper
We were ready to spend $2000-plus for a new "custom" innerspring mattress 9seen at boat shows) until we saw the Tufted Topper at the Strictly Sail Show in Chicago. Bought the item, saved so much money we bought a new boat.!!!!! Seriously, very satisfied with the product.
