Ive upgraded my sailboat and now need a dinghy. The problem is I have a 4hp mercury 4-stroke long-shaft that is sitting idle (the sailboat it went on is gone). How well will long-shaft motor work on a standard shaft dinghy?
Anyone run a dinghy with a long shft outboard?

There are times when my 6 hp cavaitates if the dingy is lightly loaded and I thnik a long shaft might be better.

May Be A Problem
If you turn the motor sharply it will heel dingy severely. No problem on a inflatable dangerous on a hard dink.
