Yamaha 30 Yokosuka
I've been living in Japan for 3 years and decided I needed to quit sulking about selling my Catalina before moving here and go and buy another boat. What I found was it is nearly impossible to buy a sailboat in Japan if you are not fluent in Japanese, and well, Japanese. After trying unsuccesfully for months on my own, I found a boat broker. Within two weeks he found me a beautiful Yamaha 30. I've had her for only 2 weeks now, but I've had her out almost daily and it is an amazing boat. If you are interested in buying a Yamaha I can direct you to the man I used. I checked with him, and he does arrange freight or will hire a crew to move boats to the west coast of the US.

His name is Nao Hotta-san. You can e-mail him at:

Just tell him that Buttercup's owner sent you.

Yamaha 26 tall rig Marina Village Alameda, CA
I have had a post on the discussion board regarding a Yamaha 26C tall rig 1984). I haven't had any luck with a response. Have you heard anything about the boat in terms of it's sailing qualities in Japan. Perhaps there were not many imported into the USA.
Many thanks for your help in advance.
