Anyone slipped in Ventura harbor, CA. or was and knows the marina pretty well? I'm considering moving the boat up there but want to get a lay of the land possibly from someone local. Please reply here or PM me if so. Have questions on choosing a marina. I'm not 100% committed to the move yet. Weighing my options for now, but will need to decide within a couple of weeks.

Back when I sailed out of Channel Islands harbor (decades ago), Ventura harbor entrance was known to get breakers when the seas were up (and shoaling issues). At the same time, entering Channel Islands harbor was much easier.
Jetties and break water have been modified since then, so maybe not an issue today.

Thanks U.P. I was able to make arrangements to stay where I am for at least another year. Next year I will make the move when my new lease expires. This will give me some time to drive up to both and start checking them out. I have been to Ventura harbor a bunch of times, but not as a sailor. I really like it up there. The service yards are better suited for DIY guys like me. I have not been to Channel Islands harbor though.
