anyone heard of the Escape Mango?

Hello,

Does anyone own a Escape Mango?
I just bought a used one. When I rig it I can not seem to unwind the sail?

Any Idea what I am doing wrong???

Unroll the sail, insert the mast in the luff pocket, then step the mast....

Or you could call the person you bought the boat from and ask them how to rig it correctly,.

Never had a mango escape but I had an apple roll off the coping once.

Mango problems

I too have an Escape Mango. the website manual is pretty good.... amerboat.net.... go to mango video.... on very bottom = tab for "manual"...

If you can't get the mast to unfurl, it could be several problems.... 1. there is a strap and clip on the sail that wraps around the mast... unclip that. 2. at the bottom of the mast, there are two camcleats.... these hold and lock the wind-up sheets for the furling system. these both must be un cleated to allow the mast to turn.... pulling out on the right one unfurls the sail while the other side of the sheet wraps up around the mast so you can re-furl it again at the end of the day..... 3. also, make sure that your mast is stepped correctly.... the big round disc must fit in and then turn to lock in the mast... then it should turn easily... ball bearing system within the disc.

yes. You're rigging it IN THE WINTER. The sail knows this. Wait 3 months.

Be sure to read those instructions in the manual: "Consult your physician prior to your first sail." And "Do not use alcohol or mind-altering drugs prior to or while using this product". In other words wait until you are home!
