I'd been reading about it. No positive outcome. The rescue team had to convince the owner to leave the boat. They had to actually use two boats to rescue them, one on a tether to a larger boat as the current was very high. Apparently the owners missed/didn't know about the canal that bypasses this part of the river...

Looks like a write-off. I suppose that river flow is not going to stop. Beautiful boat. Painful accident.

I did not realize that the boat was still stuck out there…I thought salvage crew was going to get it.

It won’t be worth much if the river rises enough to push it over the rocks and down stream.

Have to feel bad for the couple who were heading down to the gulf and on to the Carib or Bahamas.

All because they missed a turn…

Boat is not still there. River rose and washed it away about a week ago. It appears to have sunk, and has not been found. Photos and videos made it look like the current was running at better than 10 knots. There are reports of major highway style signs "ALL BOATS THIS WAY ==> " as well as bouyage at the canal entrance that avoids these rapids.
