A buddy of mine just purchased a 1974 Albin Vega with a MD6A with the Combi gearbox. The engine ran fine for 30 minutes with the boat on the hard (cooling water supplied), but after launching the engine won't run. It starts very hard and then stops within a minute. The engine has low hours, but hasn't been run in a year or so. The engine mounted fuel filter has been changed and the system bled. A separate fuel supply has been connected with no improvement. A mechanic was called in and after several hours is at a loss to find the problem. I suspect that the problem is with the fuel system, but since I am not personally familiar with this engine, I'm not sure how to proceed.
