Anyone have the specs on the Islander 30 rudder?

A friend of mine ran aground a few weeks ago and lost the rudder on his 1968 Islander 30. He is going to have to build a new one but doesn't know the dimensions of the original. It would be great if anyone had that information or knew where we could find it. It would be a lot better than him just trying to guess!

Chck out the Foss Company in Calif. They made most of the original Islander rudders

If you can wait for about a month I will have my 1968 Islander 30 on the hard and get you pictures and dimensions. But I can't understand how your friend lost a rudder without sinking the boat.

Let me know about the rudder, I would like to replace mine. I've repaired leaking rust many times, don't trust it anymore and it wobbles, bearing problem.

is spade rudder,yes?? rudder bearings are of teflon or plastic?/ did you replace that yet?/ should help the wobble...if you can remove and fiberglass it -- modify the rudder some, would that help also??
