When I was boat hunting last year I saw a sweet looking 28 foot sailboat I beleave was made in Sweeden. The make was a Fingal. It looked a lot like a Peason Trion, full keel not too wide, thick fiberglass. It had a lot of teek inside and appeared to be built very well. The guy that owned it had left it covered for about 6 years. It needed a whole lot of cleaning. The wife wanted something a little more roomy and I didn't want to spend a year getting it back in shape so I did not make him an offer. Anyway I still think about her. Has anyone out ther got a Fingal?

Fingal?

I think that is the name of the designer because I believe they come in a whole bunch of sizes. Who made them I do not know but I figure they may be one offs meaning that people could buy the particular "Fingal" plan and knock one up.

Pronouced Fin - Gal

Thanks Mark, I know the guy pronounced it Fin Gal said it was originally shipped to California and then trucked cross country to Maine. He said the inboard diesel was installed in California. He indicated it was a small company in I think Sweden. Looked to me like a great sea worthy boat. Showed me an old two page information sheet on it not very readable through, poor English. Too bad it's just setting collecting dust and hornets nests as far as I know
