Anyone Ever Eliminate the 320 Table?

We have toyed with taking out the table. It takes up a lot of room, especially if you live aboard a lot. However, there are time when you really need "some" table space. We even thought about taking out half of the table. Has anyone out there done this?

Not the table, but the weight

I had the lead counterweight for the table removed while dismasted for another job. If nothing else, it lightened the boat considerably and we no longer have the mystery clink in the night.

35.5 Table

I have been looking at the table in my 35.5 for years now and trying to figure how to regain some of the area. I have even thought of having a piano hinge placed in the port side. This would give you more room on the starboard side of the table to sit.

Take it out

You will love the extra room. We have a 1990 H30 which is the same beam and about a foot shorter actual boat length than the 320 and we took ours out and it made a world or difference. In fact we were looking at moving up to a larger boat which we have now put on hold due to the extra room we created. Of course if you were a liveaboard i would not recommend it. good luck
