I have added keel guides and a 9' 10" tongue extension to my 3-axle trailer. Just wondering if anuyone else has had any success ramp launching/retreiving their 25. Charlie

It will depend on the ramp

I don't have a 25, but am trailer launching a hunter 27 with 3' 6" draft. I need at least 5' of water at the center of the keel to float it on the trailer. On many ramps, that is 20' or so into the water. I have a wheel that swivels down at the tongue of the trailer. This allows me to disconnect and use a 25' tow strap to back the trailer into the water. If your extension is long enough to get into proper depth, you should have no problems launching and retrieving. I think you will find the keel guides a life saver. That was my biggest problem getting that fixed keel on the trailer. Guides solved the problem especially in a cross-wind Good Luck Ward

I took my Hunter 1976 out of New Bedford Harbor on a boat hauling transport. They drove down the ramp and guided me in, not good, I believe I was lined up but some how I crashed into one of the cross beams on the hauler putting a nice nick into my 30 year old lead keel. I quickly discovered that instead of using my rudder as I had done all season, I should have steer the boat manually with my outboard which at a standstill is the only real way of steering a boat, whereas forward motion is good for rudder steering.
