Come on up to Wateree Lake in South Carolina. The water's fine! At least 2 of us own 23s.

How about that lake in Mt. Dora. If you sail West down I-4 you can reach Tampa Bay. There are public ramps in Davis Island, Ft Desoto, and in the Alafia river at US 41 among others. If you want to take it easy just look for good weather and come out during the week. Unless you are profficient at launching and retreiving the weekends could be a little hectic with all the power boats.

There are some good protected sailing areas over on the east coast.. about an hours drive from you via US-192 to the Melbourne area. Inside the barrier islands offers great sailing without going out into the open ocean. The Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area is also another great spot to sail, but is a bit further away from you.

I always thought that Lake Toho (both) were deeper than what you seem to indicate.. maybe the water level has risen a bit with all the rain we had from that tropical storm that just passed through :)

Cheers,
Brad
