After about three months of research (after the purchase) I have discovered that the boat I bought IS NOT in fact a Najad but IS a Najade. With the help of a friend who speaks Swedish and after digging through about a ton and a half of old paperwork we located and spoke with the ORIGINAL owner who took delivery in 1971. He gave me all the information that he could remember and even had the original invoices on the delivery, but he was not the person who ordered the boat (seems the original purchaser backed out and this fellow bought it). He still remembered the boat even though he sold it about 35 years ago and he is now in his mid 80's. I understand that Najade had a couple of production(?) models, the 930 and the 1000, but as the boat I now own was custom built I can't find any information on it and was wondering if anyone out there might have some info on the builder that they would be willing to share. I know that finding exact information on the boat itself is going to be next to impossible but I'm still gonna try to find out as much as I can. Thanks in advance!

Went that route already MrUnix............not much luck. These boats are different in alot of respects. But, like you, my first thought was that maybe they were related somehow but I can't make the connection between the two.

An update to my searching............... Got a phone call from another friend who located some information on Najade.
Najade sailboats are German in origin where Najad is Swedish
Boats were originally the design of Wilhelm Jenneskens with help from Genzel (of Phantom fame).
The production boats (maybe mine as well) were built by AAG Nautika d.o.o. Murtic Yachts under the name Najade Bootsbau GmbH.
Thought I'd throw that out there to see if it could garner any more information.
Thanks Campers!
