Any recommendations on depth sounders?

I want to install a small inexpensive depth sounder on my O'Day 25, any recommendations on any models? Also, I am pretty sure I am going to go for the shoot thru hull type of transducer but wanted some input from the site. Any experiences good/ bad are welcomed!

forgewt the transom mount that only tells you after you run aground! have the uyard put a thru the hull in front of your keel during the winter
