Any known problems with 87' models ?

I am considering the purchase of a 1987 MacGregor 26 ft. sailboat .As I understand this is the first year for water ballast. Are there any inherent problems to be conserned with in this first year boat????

I only had my 97 26x for 3 weeks I'm very happy with it, I'm new to sailing the 26x the only problem I had was my fault by putting all my stuff under the cockpit bed, leaving the bow to light, when motoring, the boat went everywhere but straight, after placing it all in the birth hatches, its so cool.
