Planning to move my 1980 Hunter to Lake Chicamauga at Chattanooga, Tenn this fall. I'l like to hear from any Hunter Owners in that area regarding marinas, maintenance sources, marine mechanics, etc. I have a "deep" keel, drawing over 4 and a half feet. How serious a problem is this going to be? I'm especially interested in learning who in the area may be available to install a transmission on my Renault 8 engine. Or, alternatively, who may be able to install a new engine and transmission, after removing the old Renault 8 diesel? Any other advice in moving a boat five or six hundred miles would be welcome. Please reply on these pages, or I may be reached at kayhardesty@hotmail.com Thanks.

PYC can be blamed for my current addiction to sailing. Is a nice little club. Below is a link to check out. Hope this helps.

ck out blue springs marina about 50 miles north of chatta. nice sailboat marina and better sailing than chatta. not a bad drive up 58 highway.

I would suggest you check out Blue Springs Marina as well. You'll find Watts Bar Lake much less crowded and with better sailing than many of the other area lakes. It's about 1/2 way between Knoxville and Chattanooga.
