Any H37 legends in my area?

Hunter 31 Deale, MD
My someday boat is either a H37 or H40 late '80's vintage. I've been aboard a H40, but I'd like an opportunity to spend a few minutes aboard a H37 to get a feel for the interior space. I'm also curious to know where a generator would be installed on one of these boats. If you have a H37 and would allow me to spend a few minutes aboard with you, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hunter 37.5 37.5 Norfolk
I have a 1996 37.5 and am located in Norfolk, VA. This doesn't help you as far as looking at the boat. However, in IMHO, there is no place to mount a generator except one of those little Honda's in the cockpit or on top of the back lockers exposed to the elements. That being said. I chose this boar over a 376 and a few other boats I was seriously considering, including a 40.5. I have picked up four sailing trophy's this year in the cruising class with almost 20 year old sails and non regular crew. I love this boat and it is fast.

And as to the generator.......

There is a decent space far after behind the aft berth. MIne has a 35 gallon fuel tank added in there, and I could still put a 3.7 generator I think.

Though I think I'll be thinking in terms of extra batteries and solar panels.

Hunter 37.5 Point Lookout, NY
The late eighties (I think '89) was when Hunter began the .5 series, most of them and definitely the 37.5 were called "Legend". They are a very different boat from the previous models lacking the extra six inches and the .5 in their moniker. The Legends had fractional rigs instead of masthead, more modern interiors, swim platforms at the transom, broader beam carried further aft, and many other differences. Spend some time on Yachtworld.com and figure out which series you are interested in.

Scott Nielsen is right on in saying the the 37.5 is a very fast and comfortable boat. There were significant changes to the deck and interior in '92, you should check those out, too. I love my 1995 37.5, it's perfect for my mix of racing and cruising, and I too can beat boats significantly larger regularly. It's solid and well-constructed. The 37.5, particularly after '92, has an incredibly spacious aft cabin, but this comes at the expense of cockpit locker space which is where I would think most people would want to put a generator. How about wind, solar, and/or hydro power?

If you want to see my boat just message me. It's on the Atlantic-facing shore of Nassau County, Long Island, NY, 2o-25 miles or so east of NYC.

Hunter 37.5 Annapolis
I just bought a 1994 37.5, and I have it in Galesville. I'll be on it sometime this weekend if everything goes well installing a water heater on the boat I'm selling, a Hunter 30 in Deale.
