Just curious how you like your front loading fridge? My wife and I saw the 426DS at the St. Pete boat show and we (especially the wife)loved that feature of the boat. Any negatives you see with the front loading fridge? Thanks Brian C. s/v CREW REST

Inefficient ??

Brian: I looked closely at the fridge on this boat (and others), and the concenses was that each time you opened the front door, you would very nearly completely evacuate the cold air from the fridge. However, the shorter people in the group were willing to live with that so that they would avoid their butts sticking up in the air each time they tried to get something on the bottom of a top loading fridge........ Front Loading No Problems

Our Hunter 410 'Restless' has a front and top opening refigerator. We use the front opening feature to reach items that are way in back on the bottom. It is true that opening this for any length of time causes the system to cycle on almost immediately. We solve this by organizing things in there so that we don't have to look around too much. Also, you need to ensure that all the seals around the perimeters of the doors are sealing up properly. Don't forget to always keep the drain plug in place.
