Can someone tell me where the Anti-siphon valve for the head is located on a Hunter 33 (2007) ? It's location seems to be shown in Hunters 'Waste System Layout" but the actual location on the boat escapes me.

Follow the hoses...

There should be one in the intake, but not necessarily any others. If any vented loops are installed, you should see hoses coming off the toilet as shown in these photos. Follow the hose(s) to find the loop(s). No hoses...no vented loop(s).

If you can tell me the make/model of your toilet I'll give you a link to the installation/operation and maintenance manual for it. If you don't have a clue, post or email a photo of the working part--base below and/or pump beside the bowl...NOT the bowl...all bowls look alike.

I located a valve behind a panel in a nearby locker. It's exactly as the picture on the left that
you posted. The valve looks ok.

With the lever in the 'dry' position the toilet slowly half fills. I assumed it was siphoning but with the thru-hull intake switched off, the level in the toilet slowly rises about half way again.
Now there appears to be no problem with the valve. The water in the toilet is clear. What am I missing here, please? It's a Jabsco 29120 and I have the manual, thanks.

The most likely explanations

1. Water runs downhill...so what's filling the bowl is water left in the line between the top of the loop and the bowl. Try flushing in the dry mode longer to get rid of it.

2. Backflow from the head discharge line...which can be clean if it's only flush water. Again...you're not flushing long enough in the dry mode to move bowl contents all the way to the tank. Your joker valve is way past due for replacement too.
