...by the way, for those of you who often think that their 23 foot boat is too small for a trip to the bahamas, here is a gentleman sailor who did it for an extended cruise back in 2002-2003. I think that the original site was taken down a while back, but someone is attempting to revive his log of the trip and post it here:

clarification...

The original "Log of the SV Prana" site was taken down about 2 years ago... It was a fantastic photo-journal that spanned a 7 month trek in a Beneteau 235 to the Bahamas. Thomas cruised it with his Husky named Kiva, and together they sailed through much of the islands there. The link that I posted is only to a snippet of the original log... I do not know where to go to see the original, but I believe that a few of the sailing rags (magazines) may have a few articles about him, so one might do a "google" search to find out more about him and that trip. He proved to me when I read his log that one CAN go cruising full time, given the right amount of fortitude, in a 'small boat'. Thomas was MY original inspiration when I was only dreaming about sailing to the Bahamas in Empty Pocket...

Text-only version of SV Prava logs

I found the original web site in the 'archives'. Not many photos left, but the text of the journey persists. See link below:

Hey Dave....

I have to admit that the Beneteau 235 is just about the only other small boat that I'd trade for my H23. Click on link below for some photos. Peter H23 "Raven"
