Another Jabsco Question

I've read the posts concerning Jabsco Pumps and heads and I need to ask this rookie question. I've got an old Jabsco head and I cracked the pump base while reinstalling. I would love to get a PHII but I need to spread my money on some other things on the boat. My question is my flushing mechanism is on the left side of the bowl. If I order the replacement pump assembly is there an issue because it's on the left side? From looking at the diagrams it looks like the base that the bowl sits on swings left or right to accommodate the pump assembly. Is this right? Thanks

No Problem

If you are using the PHII base and pump and than use the old bowl np problem you can have the pump on left or right side.

You can afford a PH II if you go with the "conversion"

Check this out: sbo.com PHII PHC LBA

Measure to determine whether you have room for the full size PH II or need the smaller PHC (both use the same pump, but the PHC is smaller because it's on a compact base and has a shorter handle)

Pump can be installed on either side of the bowl on either one.

I understand what you guys are telling me about the PHII or PHC and I agree but at this time I need to just replace the pump assembly on my Jabsco head. Is the pump assembly universal left or right? I believe it's just the base config that determines whether the pump is on the left or right. Yes???

if you will look at that ad one more time you will see that for just a few dollars more than the jabsco ....you can have a phii pump and use your old bowl ......i wouldnt bothere replaceing a jabsco base for any reason when i could have a phii for just a few dollars more.... 218.00 aint bad for fixing your problem and the jabsco part will cost you not only prolly 150.00 but you still will not have a phii ....the dif is just not worth it to stay with jabsco

The answer to your question is in the Jabsco installation instructions

http://www.jabsco.com/files/29090_-_29120_-_3000_datasheet.pdf

For a difference of +/- only about $100, you might want to keep in mind that it's always cheaper and easier in the long run to do it right the first time than it is to do it twice.

Or maybe you and Rick Dinon should get together...he's spent nearly $1,000 on replacement pumps for his $100 Jabsco toilet. :D
